How do I know? I visited her site recently. We’re encroaching on May 2026 and the footer still says 2025.

That’s a tell. When the easiest thing is missed, the harder things are too.

A footer year takes thirty seconds to update. If the footer is stale, the SEO is stale. The AEO is stale. The GEO work is stale. And those matter more right now than they did six months ago.

Roughly half the traffic online is bots. The humans who remain are searching through ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity as often as they’re searching through Google. Sites structured for answer engines and generative engines show up in those answers. Sites built for Google alone are invisible there.

When the easiest thing is missed, the harder things are too.

SEO still matters. It’s losing share.
AEO is where the traffic is going.
GEO is where the authority is being built.

Everyone running a public career is moving fast. Someone on the team should be watching the small things while they do.

Here’s a free check you can run in ten seconds.

Scroll to the bottom of your own website. Look at the year.

If it’s right, someone is watching the small things, which means they are probably watching the bigger things too.

If it is wrong, email me at info@creativeequityfund.net. We will find what else is slipping and what it is costing you.
